Prevention is better than treatmentJ Kelly
Marcoola Dental is a bespoke dental practice located on the border of Marcoola and Mount Coolum in the Town of Seaside. Most dental practices are owned by dentists however, ours is a bit different as it is owned by both myself and my husband. My name is Lyn Kelly and I have over 20 years of experience in banking and finance, as well as many years in managing and growing businesses in different industries, and my husband Jim (the silent partner) is a diesel fitter by trade. Some of our previous ventures have included owning and managing our own agricultural business for seven years, managing another four-surgery dental practice, and managing a retail business prior to purchasing Marcoola Dental.
At Marcoola Dental, you are welcome by our friendly and caring dental team. Our lead dentist Dr. Amps Jutla, originally from the UK, is an experienced and friendly dentist who moved to Australia in November 2013. He believes in treating his patients with the same level of care as he would with his family and friends and as such approaches each visit in a caring, reassuring manner. He also has many years of experience in providing sedation dentistry; helping to remove the barriers some anxious/nervous patients face when visiting the dentist. In his spare time, Dr. Amps has a passion for photography and traveling, and you will occasionally also find him in the DJ booth at the weekends at various venues in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. On the 12th of August this year, Dr. Amps proudly became an Australian Citizen.
Supporting Dr. Amps is a team consisting of Emily Armstrong and Demi Cooper who share the roles of Clinical Coordinator/Dental Assistant, as well as myself. Our team draws on their experience, knowledge, and expertise to make sure your visit, with us is positive, relaxing, and professional. We will take the time to listen to your concerns and understand your needs, and will discuss all treatment options available to you, providing all the information you require to make an informed decision about your oral health, including the relative risks and benefits of these options as well as the potential costs to give you the peace of mind. You can also rest assured in the knowledge that the hygiene standards in our practice are extremely high. We know how important it is to you to know that your wellbeing is in the right hands, especially now in a world where COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the world as well as our day-to-day lives.
At Marcoola Dental we believe that prevention is better than treatment, and we like to ensure that our patients understand the importance of prevention so that they can maintain good oral health forever as a holistic part of their overall health.
I always say “do what you love, and love what you do” and this is reflected in our happy Marcoola Dental team. Life is a journey and our journey is no exception – the people you meet and the places you live are what make us who we are today. We look forward to seeing you at our practice!
